Oh no - bugs in your wool! I haven't had this problem, but I am a botanist and we always put all plant materials and seeds coming into our collections into the freezer for about 1 week, which kills all the insects and eggs that could be in the sample. If it works for museum collections, it should work on wool and be completely harmless. You'll still have to clean it up, but at least it will get rid of any wool munching.
